As a team, we like to create a plan for your brain retraining journey, whether it's inside group or private sessions or creating a personalized Incremental Progress Plan for you. We believe that healing using nervous system regulation should be unique to you. We are all, in fact, bio-individual and have different needs and desires. That's one of the reasons why we provide you with access to a robust team, full of tips and tools. It's also one of the reasons why we offer so many free resources before you dive into a program of your choosing. Below, you'll find links to free resources you can utilize and common questions people ask before joining Vital-Side.

"I'm totally new to brain retraining, where do I start?"

Because there are so many people in your shoes, we provide information at the start, before you dive into a program, so you truly know what to expect. The resources listed below are the ones I would take myself if I was brand new to this information and wanted to learn more.

  1. Listen to Rewire the Podcast: My podcast was created in 2021 to provide people with the understanding of your nervous system in the most simplistic terms with the highest acclaimed experts. I suggest listening to Episode 57: "What is Brain Retraining?" on Apple, Spotify, or wherever you listen to your podcasts. You can go one step deeper and hear the story of a past Rewire member turned operation's manager in Vital-Side and how she healed from MCAS, POTS, and Rheumatoid Arthritis in Episode 62: "Is This Real Life? Lori Weir's Wild Healing Journey."
  2. Get your free Brain Retraining Guide: In this PDF, you'll learn simple and basic tools to start your brain retraining journey for free and on your own today. You'll also be sent a video on my story and how the tools I teach inside Vital-Side brought me to full recovery from Lyme disease and co-infections.   3. Start brain retraining with our intro program: Reset. This introductory course takes just 7 days to complete when you commit less than 7 minutes a day to the education, tools, and simple protocols. I created it for you if you're unsure brain retraining is the next step in your healing journey, and you'd like to get a taste for what to expect. "How do I know if I'm living in a survival state?"

Most of the people that start working with me inside Vital-Side have already tried "all the things." In fact, when I started coaching in 2018, 95% of my clients came from medical practitioners, intensive and rigid detox protocols, and treatment facilities. Now, I am seeing more people who are starting to brain retrain towards the beginning of their health journey, which solidifies brain retraining as a mainstay treatment for many people with chronic illness, trauma, and stress. If you're someone who feels like they have already tried all the physical modalities to heal, and you're still sympomatic or dealing with chronic inflammation daily, it's likely you're operating from a state of survival. "Can I use Vital-Side to help my kids learn to regulate?"

After years of work in this field and working with kids ages 6 and up, I have learned that the best thing for your child is to be modeled regulation from you, their parent or caregiver. Oftentimes, children do not know how to regulate their nervous systems because they were not modeled regulation from a young age, and this can show up in their behavior of overwhelm, emotional outbursts, and fears/anxiety. That said, this is not always the case, and some children are dealing with chronic inflammation from past trauma and/or chronic illness. No matter what the case, I suggest you start with the information listed in these emails that walk you through standard practices to start modeling regulation to your children and include a daily practice in PDF form that you can begin to implement. "I am pregnant (and/or already a mother) & am struggling. What can I do?"

First off, I want to normalize the struggles that you feel. Becoming a mother changes your body's physiology, neurochemistry, and hormones. This is not something that is talked about regularly in OB appointments, but it is absolutely necessary to bring awareness to so that you can understand the symptoms you feel are not all in your head -- they are a real results of your body's fluctuating physiology, which can impact physical symptoms and mental health. "I have completed another brain retraining program but am still not seeing results. Where do I go from here?"

When I created Vital-Side, one of the first things I did was work with brain retrainers in other programs. When I started brain retraining myself, there weren't that many resources or programs out there, so I educated myself with other programs offered so I could effectively coach people. Now, there are hundreds of programs and classes offered on brain retraining -- some very effective, while others can feel disempowering and frustrating to comprehend. It's OK to admit that another program was not a right fit -- we are all so different and require different needs. Perhaps you're someone who needs more one-on-one care, a community, or a coach to connect with regularly. Maybe you need a different approach or personalization... and perhaps with some tweaks and extra tools, you'll be able to effectively practice. I created resources to give you the next steps! If you want to restart brain retraining with a totally new approach, you can start with Rewire and learn the tools we teach inside our structrued, practical course. If you prefer to stick to your current practice but add effective tools to help personalize your practice, Elevate is the best next step for you.
